IDEA

The words “Diversity and Inclusion” is often thrown around like a fad, like the next new shiny thing for businesses. Because of this, often diversity is associated with a very narrow definition of gender or cultural diversity and often leaves out what it means to have inclusion. However, equity and accessibility must be part of D&I and must transition into IDEA: Inclusion = Diversity + Equity + Accessibility.

How we do it

Design Thinking

There are many ways to approach strategy and strategy execution for brand and culture. Here at MyKimisms, LLC, we focus on design thinking. This idea or method isn’t new. It’s been around since the early 1960’s, gain momentum in the 1980’s mostly in the design field by innovative leaders like IDEO, and more widely used in the mid 2000’s when Stanford University’s d.School started teaching it.

Design thinking is often synonymous with human-centered design and this is why we use this approach at MyKimisms, LLC. Brand and culture are both very much centered on the human condition. To create a brand and culture centered on the human condition must focus on inclusion at the top of it’s strategy.

The evolution of diversity has moved to diversity and inclusion (D&I), and now to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). We, at MyKimisms, LLC believes that accessibility is also a key foundation for inclusion. We believe Inclusion = Diversity + Equity + Accessibility (IDEA).
